Joe Jackson Wants Michael’s Kids to Perform as “The Jackson Three”

I’ve been trying to stay away from all of the Michael Jackson hoopla but this is just ridiculous.

Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, wants Michael’s kids to hit the stage in 2010 and tour as a group called “The Jackson Three.”

“Former Jackson Five manager Joe is said to have approached Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year old Prince Michael II — known as Blanket — to hit the stage next year.”

No doubt with dollars in his eyes, the Father of the Jackson’s is being met with extreme opposition from the family members, some of whom are “livid” at the idea. This latest scheme add’s fuel to the fire in the bitter custody battle over the kids.

“Jackson’s biographer Ian Halperin said yesterday: “Joe wants the children to go on a world tour in 2010. He has also already offered recording contracts to two of Michael’s kids. Now he is talking about getting them the world’s best backing band and taking them on tour as The Jackson Three.”

“Halperin said yesterday his source for the allegations is extremely close to the family and may soon speak out publicly — out of concern for the future of the youngsters.”

I can’t even believe that this has even gone so far as to brought to the public’s attention.

Team Microsoft Corp. and Angelina Jolie

Well, here’s something you don’t hear every day…Microsoft Corp. is teaming up with 25 law firms AND one actress to launch a pro bono initiative to represent immigrant children in the U.S.

Is it Madonna? Nope. It’s Angelina Jolie.

Together, she and Microsoft are starting a program that will seek to help roughly 8,000 children who get separated from their families and have to proceed through the U.S. immigration process without representation.

“Part of what we’re trying to do is approach pro bono in a holistic rather than piecemeal way,” said Brad Smith, general counsel of Microsoft.

Microsoft and Jolie plan to raise awareness of their program and get even more help and support from law firms. Unaccompanied to the United States for many reasons including being separated from their families during the process of escaping another country or running from abuse, these children are vulnerable and need assistance. KIND wants to change proceedings and offer them more security, safety and a fair shake at entering the United States and getting adequate care.
