A heated battle over the famous Shepard Fairey Obama images has taken the spotlight and raised questions about copyright license agreements when it comes to artistic expression.

The Associated Press has sued Shepard Fairey for for violating a copyright license agreement on the photo taken by Mannie Garcia that Shepard Fairey turned into the famous graphic image of Obama with “Hope” or “Progress” emblazoned below.

Shepard Fairey insists that his artistic rendition of the photo does not violate the copyright license agreement as he dramatically altered Garcia’s photo.

Nevertheless, the AP disregards Fairey’s artful amendments and demands compensation from the profits Shepard Fairey and his companies have made off of the image as reparations for the copyright license agreement infringement.

In response to an attack on copyright license agreements, Fairey poses the issue of free expression rights. As far as the AP sees it, “The dispute turns partly on the legal concept of fair use, which allows exceptions to copyright law. Courts decide based on factors including how much of the original is used, what the new work is used for and how the new work affects the original.”

The beginning of a new era is upon us. Barack Obama is officially our 44th president, ushering in a new wave of hopes and dreams for the American people. As Barack delivered his inauguration speech, supporters of all race and creeds listened and cheered enthusiastically. It was an amazing site.

Barack spared us the fairy tales and delivered a sobering assessment of where America stands and a hopeful vision of what it can become, addressing some key points that he wants to address during his time in the presidency.

“Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time,” Obama told hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall in front of the Capitol.

“But know this, America — they will be met,” he said.

He vowed to end the partisanship and divisiveness that is currently running rampant in Washington.

“We come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics,” he said.

In another allusion to Washington’s shortcomings, Obama promised to hold accountable anyone who handles taxpayer dollars.

“And those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.”

Our new President also made a point to mention the Civil Rights Movement and praised the martyrs and pioneers.

“This is the meaning of [America's] liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath,” Obama said.

As a symbolic gesture, Obama was sworn in using the same Bible that was used in President Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration.

“This is America happening,” said Evadey Minott of Brooklyn, New York. “It was prophesized by King that we would have a day when everyone would come together. This is that day. I am excited. I am joyful. It brings tears to my eyes.”

The inauguration of our new President brings forth a new era. One with new hopes and dreams for the American people. A fresh beginning. In this time of financial uncertainty, and international turmoil, we have an opportunity to start over, a glimmer of hope in what has been a relatively dismal period in American History.

At a time when we as a country should be very proud, this afternoon we are single handedly thrown back decades.  Regardless of whether or not you are an Obama supporter, you would probably say that it is a great time in our countries history and that you are proud to have the monumental progression as a nation that an African American is in the race for the Presidential Election.  This post will make you feel like we regressed a few decades at first, and then, you will laugh, hysterically.

Two Neo-Nazi skinheads got arrested for allegedly plotting to kill and decapitate multiple black high school students at a local high school, and as a final act of a racial battle, assassinate presidential candidate Barack Obama… while wearing all white tuxes and top hats.

“In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they broke up plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

A source in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told FOX News that the two skinheads, who were picked up in Crockett County, Tenn., were plotting to shoot 88 black students and decapitate 14 others described as non-whites. The source said officials believe the suspects were planning to attempt an assassination against Obama.

The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.”

Wow.  First of all, anytime I hear people participating in bigotry, I automatically assume that they aren’t very intelligent.  But that is an understatement when referring to these two.  They have to be some of the dumbest would-be assassins in the history of the United States. I am literally amused just thinking about how dumb these guys are.

“According to the affidavit, the suspects planned “to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows.”

The court document states that the suspects planned to dress in all-white tuxedos and top hats during the assassination attempt, and that they stated they were willing to die during this attempt.”

This situation went from very ugly and horrible, to a very funny, idiotic display of non-intelligence.  Dress up in all white tuxedos with top hats and go on a racist murder spree… and for the final act of violence, kill a presidential candidate but shooting at him from the windows of a car while you drive at him… okay guys.

The talk of the town is that John McCain is going to “whip” Barack Obama’s a** at the final debate on Wednesday. Using the term “whipped,” McCain had his camp cringing in fear, worrying that it may come off the wrong way. “Racially charged verb” is what some call it but I don’t think McCain meant to be racial. He’s just trying to be bad!

Meanwhile, at campaign headquarters outside Washington, McCain acknowledged his drop in polls. “We’re a couple points down, OK, nationally, but we’re right in this game,” McCain said as his peeps cheered. “The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we’ve seen it come back up because they want experience, they want knowledge and they want vision. We’ll give that to America.”

And here it is, folks…The infamous McCain quote: “We’re going to spend a lot of time and after I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7.”
