HarperCollins vs. Gotti? Forgetaboutit!

Posted on 05 August 2008

Born on November 27, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York, Victoria Gotti is the daughter of infamous John Gotti, the Gambino crime boss who was sentenced to life in prison for racketeering and murder. And now her brother, John A. Junior Gotti was recently arrested for racketeering and complicity in the slaying of people years ago. However, that’s not what’s making headline news. Highly intrigued by the mobster families, HarperCollins hired Victoria to write a memoir but $70,000 advance money and no memoir later, the publishing company is suing Ms. Gotti.

Although Victoria did submit two outlines, they were considered “unacceptable.” While she also published a cookbook and three other books, this go around, it just didn’t pan out. So sorry Harper but is suing really the brightest choice? Her entire family (and you know what I mean by “family”) can’t all be in jail, now can they?
