Posted on 18 April 2008

Ever wanted to be a game designer? Well you better get ready to hire a lawyer. The Video Game industry is enormous in size, and many of the companies involved are publicly traded. Most everything that goes on in the industry these days is reported to the SEC through 10-Q’s or 8-K’s. This publishing agreement shows just one of the hurdles that game developers must overcome when trying to bring their goods to market.

Each Video Game platform has their own set of standards and regulations which the publishers must conform with before they will allow their game to be released. This is to ensure the quality of games, as negative press can damage the entire hardware manufacturers and put them at a disadvantage in what is becoming more and more an extremely competitive industry.
